Dr. Hassan Khojasteh is a fellowship-trained retina specialist with a robust background in academic ophthalmology, advanced retinal surgery, and clinical research. His training includes advanced fellowships at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute—consistently ranked the #1 eye hospital in the United States—and Stanford University School of Medicine, where he gained extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex retinal diseases and multidisciplinary care.

Dr. Khojasteh holds distinction awarded by the International Council of Ophthalmology, demonstrating his dedication to clinical excellence.

Dr. Khojasteh previously served as a faculty member at the renowned Farabi Eye Hospital and Tehran University of Medical Sciences, where he played a leading role in training ophthalmology residents and retina fellows. He also served as Director of Electrophysiology and Inherited Retinal Diseases, overseeing the diagnosis and management of complex genetic and electrophysiologic retinal conditions.

Throughout his career, Dr. Khojasteh has contributed extensively to the field of retina through peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and invited lectures, and continues to serve as a reviewer for leading ophthalmology journals. He has also contributed to the refinement of vitreoretinal surgical techniques, with several of his clinical innovations presented and published in academic forums.

His clinical expertise includes diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular diseases such as macular holes and epiretinal membranes, inherited retinal disorders, and complex surgical retinal pathology.
